Kronos

Youngest of the twelve Titans and the one chosen by Gaia to overthrow his father. Armed with the adamantine sickle his mother forged for him, he castrated Uranus at the cosmic horizon and seized the kingship of the gods. Warned that his own son would in turn dethrone him, he swallowed each of his children at birth by Rhea — Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon — until Rhea hid the infant Zeus in a Cretan cave. After the ten-year Titanomachy Zeus cast him into Tartarus with the other defeated Titans.
