Hera
Hera
OlympianMarriage, Women
Queen of the gods, sister-consort of Zeus and protector of marriage. Hesiod assigns her three children — Ares, Hebe, and Eileithyia — and the wider tradition adds Hephaestus, born of Hera alone in answer to Zeus's solo birth of Athena. Implacable against Zeus's lovers and their children, she nevertheless held her highest cults at Samos, Argos, and Olympia.
Alternate Tradition
Hephaestus is son of Zeus and Hera in Homer; son of Hera alone in Hesiod
