OlympianFire, Metalworking

Lame craftsman of the gods, master of the forge fire. In Hesiod, Hera bears him alone in answer to Zeus's solo birth of Athena; Homer makes him son of Zeus and Hera both. Hurled from Olympus and falling all day to Lemnos, he forges Zeus's thunderbolts and the great shield of Achilles. His invisible net catches Aphrodite and Ares in flagrante.
