Theia

Titaness of sight and the bright shining of the upper air — a poetic personification rather than a cult-figure. With her brother Hyperion she bore the three sky-lights of Hesiod's order, Helios, Selene, and Eos, and Pindar in *Isthmian* 5 hymns her as the mother of the Sun who gives gold and silver their lustre.
