TitanDawn

Rosy-fingered Dawn, who rises each morning from the eastern stream of Ocean and opens the gates of heaven for her brother Helios. By the Titan Astraeus she bore the Winds — Zephyrus, Boreas, Notus — and the Morning Star (Heosphoros) together with the other stars (the four-wind canon with Eurus is post-Hesiodic). Her love-affairs are a recurring motif: in the *Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite* she carries off Tithonus and wins him immortality but forgets to ask for eternal youth, condemning him to endless old age.
