Themis
Themis
TitanDivine Law, Order
Titaness of divine law (θέμις = settled custom, the right order of things). With Zeus she bore the Horai who order the seasons — Eunomia (Good-Order), Dike (Justice), Eirene (Peace) — and the Moirai who apportion mortal lives. Aeschylus makes her the second holder of the Delphic oracle, inheriting it from Gaia and bequeathing it to her sister Phoebe, who in turn passes it to her grandson Apollo.
