Orthus

The two-headed dog of Geryon, who guarded the red cattle of the sunset island Erytheia together with the herdsman Eurytion. Heracles killed him with a single blow of the club during the tenth labour — dispatched in a single sentence by Apollodorus — before turning on the herdsman and then on Geryon himself. A brother of Cerberus and the Hydra, much less elaborately described than either in the surviving sources.
