Circe

Sorceress of Aeaea, daughter of Helios and sister of Aeëtes. She turned Odysseus's men into swine until Hermes gave him the herb moly, and kept the hero himself as her lover for a year. A generation earlier she had purified Jason and her niece Medea for the kin-murder of Apsyrtus, recognising Medea by the gleam of her Heliad eyes.
