Aether

The bright, pure upper atmosphere breathed by the gods, distinct from the dense lower air mortals draw. Born unusually from Erebus and Nyx in Hesiod's order — light emerging directly from darkness — and twin to Day (Hemera). His realm forms the medium in which Olympian thrones stand.
