Thalia (Grace)
Thaleia
Minor DeityGrace of Festivity and Abundance
One of the three Charites (Graces), daughters of Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome in Hesiod (Hes. *Theog.* 907–911). Her name, 'the blooming' or 'festivity,' personifies the flourishing good cheer of banquet and celebration. She is to be distinguished from her namesake Thalia the Muse of comedy, daughter of Mnemosyne — a common confusion already in antiquity. With Aglaea and Euphrosyne she forms the triad worshipped from earliest times at Orchomenos in Boeotia (Paus. 9.35.1).
Origin
Daughter of Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome (Hes. Theog. 907-909); one of the three Graces. Not to be confused with Thalia the Muse.
