Euphrosyne
Euphrosynē
Minor DeityGrace of Mirth and Good Cheer
One of the three Charites (Graces), daughters of Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome in Hesiod (Hes. *Theog.* 907–911). Her name means 'good cheer' or 'merriment' — the gladness that grace brings to a gathering. With her sisters Aglaea and Thalia she attends Aphrodite and the Muses, and in the poetic imagination the Graces give the charm that makes art, beauty, and festivity delightful. Their principal early cult was at Orchomenos in Boeotia (Paus. 9.35.1).
Origin
Daughter of Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome (Hes. Theog. 907-909); one of the three Graces.
